Using Counselling Services to Build Coping Skills
There are many levels of coping skills. Some are physical:
- Exercise regularly
- Taking deep breaths
- Stretch, or meditate, eating healthy
- Well-balanced meals
- Adequate daily sleep
- Avoid excessive alcohol
- Avoid use of tobacco, and substance use and continue with routine preventive measures (such as vaccinations, cancer screenings, etc.).
However, there are deeper levels of coping that are emotion based:
- Understanding, changing and releasing pent-up emotions
- Meditating, and mindfulness practices for peace of mind
