Self-esteem vs self-confidence: self-esteem refers to whether you appreciate and value yourself. Your self-esteem develops and changes as a result of your life experiences and interactions with other people. Self-confidence is your belief in yourself and your abilities.

Self-esteem is not about ability or other people’s perceptions on you. It is very possible for a person to be very good at something and yet have low self-esteem. Conversely, someone who struggles with a particular task may generally have good self-esteem.

Learn how to identify low self-esteem and how to apply tools to increase your appreciation of yourself to create a strong presence in your home, workplace and your life.
